TokyoTower Tourist attractions

Tokyo Tower was built in 1958 as telecommunication tower for TV and radio. It is standing a small hill. Tokyo area is basically flat, so the small hill was chosen for the location.

While serving as a telecommunication tower, it also entertain people with observation decks.

Two ovservation deck

The lower itself is 333 m high and observatories are located in 150m and 250m meters above the sea level.

The lower deck is called Main Deck with has two stories and the lower story hand look down windows.

The higher observatory is called Top Deck.

To go up the 250m deck you need to join the Top Deck Tour. It is a self guided tour with a multilingual tablet. Please see the video how it looks like.

Stairs to the deck

You can even walk up to 150m observation deck by 600 steps of open air stairs.

Usually the stairs are open on week ends only but under Corvid 19, they open every day.

I’m sorry but you need to buy the ticket even if you don’t take the elevator 🙂

Night illumination

The night illumination is beautiful at Tokyo Tower.

The tower itself is lit up beautifully and it sometimes has special lightening.

Also has project mapping events are held seasonally. If you are lucky you will see one of them at 20:00 on the Main Deck.
